Decluttering 101: A 3-Part Series

Have you ever noticed the difference in your mood when the kitchen counter is cleared off versus being full of stuff? Yeah, me too!

As an organizer, one of the very first things I help my clients do is declutter! It is so satisfying when I leave their home, my car filled to the brim with donations that just a few hours before were piles of clutter. It’s like putting your house on a crazy 3 hour weight loss program without hardly breaking a sweat yourself!

Is your home in need of some decluttering?

If so, you’re in luck! Each week, for the next three weeks, I will be sharing a simple, yet powerful tip with you to help you on your decluttering journey!

Tip number one:

Grab a large trash bag, turn on some music, set a timer for 5 minutes, and go through your home (or maybe just a room) adding anything to the bag that you are ready to let go of!

Since you only have 5 minutes, the clutter you are getting rid of should be super easy decisions. Maybe it’s a pair of pants that have been hanging out on your dresser since last week when you tried them on and decided you don’t love them anymore or a toy that is no longer played with, things like that!

If you have a lot of clutter that you’re needing to clear away, try doing the above exercise every day or as often as you need to. As always, feel free to share your experience with me. I love hearing about your successes!

Happy Organizing,

Camille Cazier
